• House Nolte

Project Name: House Nolte
Area: Philadelphia, Outside Durbanville
Type of garden: Minimalistic
Maintenance requirements: Low
Water requirements: Very low

The Brief: The clients wanted a modern and very minimalistic garden along the front. They love silver birch trees and had these stunning yellow barrel cacti in pots. We decided to plant them in front with a cluster of Silver birch trees (Betula pendula).
The rear garden borders along a canola field. Not to block the spectacular views of the farmland, we kept the planting low with a combination of Carissa “green carpet” and Portulacaria affra “prostrata” The yellow foliage of the portulacaria blend in lovely with the masses of bright yellow flowers of the canola fields next door in spring.
